COMP Cams ID spring locator is a hardened steel inboard shoulder seat made to center and retain valve springs while shielding the cylinder head and shim from high spring pressures and elevated RPM. By moving the locating shoulder inside the seat it reduces the head machining older external cup retainers demanded. This locator features a 1.540" OD and a .640" ID for reliable seating.
