The COMP Cams 4780 ID locator spring seat uses a hardened-steel inboard shoulder to center the seat and hold valve springs securely, protecting the head and shim under severe spring pressures and high RPM. This locator avoids the heavy machining older cup-style seats required. The 4780 lists a 1.540" OD and .640" ID and is intended to work with dual springs such as COMP 938, 953, 927 and 929.
