The COMP Cams ID locator spring seat is a hardened-steel valve spring locator that centers and secures the spring with an inboard locating shoulder, protecting the head and shim under high RPM and heavy spring loads. This design eliminates much of the head machining older cup-style seats demanded. The 4778 variant measures 1.550" OD and .570" ID and pairs with dual springs like COMP 938 and 927.
