The COMP Cams ID locator spring seat is a hardened-steel valve spring locator with an inboard locating shoulder that centers the seat and holds the spring in place under severe spring pressures and high RPM. This design protects the head and shim while avoiding the heavy machining older external cups required. The 4778 option measures 1.550" OD and .570" ID and is suitable for select dual valve springs like 938 and 927.
