The Mahle MS piston ring set sized 4.040in +0.005 includes three file-fit rings with thicknesses 1.5mm, 1.5mm and 3.0mm. Meant for engine overhaul work, the oversize rings are supplied for finish-fitting to cylinder bores by a machinist or rebuilder to re-establish proper ring-to-bore sealing, recover compression and manage oil control after machining.
