Embossed stainless steel outer layers coated in Viton provide durable sealing without additional sealants. The uncoated center shim allows thickness variation; MLS construction evens load across the sealing area, tolerates aluminum-to-aluminum or aluminum-to-iron shearing, and reduces clamp load to help limit bore distortion. Viton coating withstands 250°C (482°F).
