The Cometic MLS head gasket for 1992–1996 GM LT1 small block V8 (4.100" bore) features multi-layer stainless steel construction and a compressed operating thickness of .027". Embossed outer layers coated with Viton provide heat-resistant sealing and eliminate the need for sealants. A central uncoated shim layer permits thickness tuning, and the MLS stack is built to handle aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-iron sealing challenges while resisting corrosion.
