Multiple embossed stainless steel layers with Viton-coated faces deliver dependable sealing without the need for additional sealants. An uncoated center shim allows thickness customization; MLS construction conforms load across the sealing surface, tolerates shearing between dissimilar materials, reduces clamp load and helps limit bore distortion. Viton coating is heat resistant to 250°C (482°F).
