The Cometic MLS cylinder head gasket for GM Gen-V/VI Big Block V8 engines is built from multiple embossed stainless layers to ensure reliable sealing. This .044" compressed thickness and 4.630" bore installs without sealants for demanding engine builds. Outer layers are coated both sides with Viton for heat resistance to 250°C (482°F). An uncoated stainless shim layer permits thickness variation, evens clamp load and helps reduce bore distortion across the sealing surface.
