The Cometic MLS cylinder head gasket for GM Gen-V/VI Big Block V8 engines uses layered stainless construction for demanding sealing needs. This .051" compressed thickness with a 4.540" bore provides a sealant-free joint for high-output applications. Embossed outer stainless layers are coated both sides with Viton to resist heat up to 250°C (482°F). The uncoated center shim permits thickness variation, evens clamp load across the sealing area and helps limit bore distortion.
