The Cometic MLS cylinder head gasket for GM Gen-V/VI Big Block V8 engines is built from multiple embossed stainless layers to deliver dependable sealing. This .042" compressed thickness and 4.540" bore installs without sealants and suits aluminum-to-aluminum or aluminum-to-cast-iron combinations. Outer layers are coated both sides with Viton for heat resistance to 250°C (482°F). The uncoated shim layer can be varied for thickness, improving clamp load distribution and reducing bore distortion.
