Cometic's MLS cylinder head gasket for Toyota 4E-FE/4E-FTE/5E-FE/5E-FHE with a 76mm bore and .051in nominal thickness is built from multiple embossed stainless steel layers. The outer layers are coated with Viton and the center shim is uncoated to permit thickness variation. MLS construction conforms sealing loads, reduces clamp load and bore distortion, tolerates differing head and block materials, resists corrosion and rebound, and eliminates the need for sealants; the coating resists 250°C/482°F.
