Cometic's MLS head gasket for BMW M50B20 (82mm bore) is a .070-inch compressed-thickness, multi-layer steel gasket for 320i and 520i applications from 1989–1998. Its embossed stainless steel outer layers are coated with Viton for heat-resistant sealing, while an uncoated stainless center shim allows thickness variation. MLS construction improves sealing across mixed head/block materials without added sealants.
