The COMP Cams Big Mutha' Thumpr 295T hydraulic flat cam is built for street/strip duty on Ford 221–302 applications and produces a very rough idle. It requires about 9.5:1 compression, a 2,800+ RPM stall converter and supporting intake, gears and headers to operate in its powerband. This cam prioritizes maximum aggressive power and the Thumpr exhaust character over idle refinement.
