The COMP Cams CS 312R-8 camshaft is built on a .900" base circle for high-displacement, high-compression engines. It's intended for 400+ ci combinations with strong cylinder heads and elevated compression ratios, delivering the valve events needed for sustained power at higher revs. Note the cam is optimized for melanized or nitrided distributor gears and 1955–1957 SBCs with an oiling groove require a special version.
