The COMP Cams CS 290A-R6 camshaft is a .900" base-circle grind tailored for 355 ci late-model engines with good heads and intake systems, aimed at 1/4–3/8 mile tracks. It emphasizes throttle response and usable midrange power. The cam is optimized for melanized or nitrided distributor gears and will not fit 1955–1957 SBC rear journals that require an oiling-groove version.
