The COMP Cams CS 288BR-6 camshaft features a more aggressive intake lobe and increased torque suited to sprint car applications. It is designed for race engines that need stronger midrange punch and quicker throttle response. As with other COMP Cams offerings, avoid installing this part in 1955–57 SBCs that have an oiling groove in the rear journal. Proper distributor gear treatment (melanized or nitrided) is required to avoid compatibility and warranty issues.
