The COMP Cams CS 292A-R6 camshaft is a small-block Chevy race profile tuned for 1/4 to 3/8 mile tacky tracks with tight corners, providing responsive torque and driveability in that range. Intended for competition use where corner-exit acceleration and midrange strength matter. 1955–57 SBCs with a rear-journal oiling groove will not accept these part-numbered cams. Distributor gears should be melanized or nitrided to maintain warranty coverage.
