The COMP Cams CS 278Xo-8 camshaft is aimed at 1/4–3/8 mile fast-track oval racing for 327–358 cubic-inch small-block engines with roughly 9:1 compression using a two-barrel carburetor and good intake and exhaust. It provides a cam profile suited to short-track conditions. Note: 1955–1957 small-block Chevrolets with a rear-journal oiling groove require a groove-style cam and are not compatible with this listed part.
