The COMP Cams CB XE284H-10 camshaft is a street/strip CB-series profile that calls for 9.5:1+ compression, headers and a 2800+ rpm stall converter to achieve its intended powerband. Expect a rough idle as a tradeoff for stronger mid- and top-end performance. Note: some 1965–66 396 c.i.d. BBC engines have an oiling groove in the rear journal; listed cams will not fit those motors—contact customer service for the correct groove-style cam.
