The COMP Cams CS 291T Thumpr camshaft produces an aggressive, race-style idle and broad torque gains ideal for muscle cars and street rods. Thumpr grinds require an aftermarket torque converter and lower gear ratio to keep the engine in its powerband, and typically reduce idle vacuum — making a vacuum canister, pump or hydroboost advisable for vehicles with power brakes. Custom tuning and supporting intake, headers and gears are required.
