McLeod aluminum flywheels are CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and include a replaceable steel friction insert plus a 1045 hardened ring gear. This special-order variant fits Chevrolet LS-family engines (1997–2013) with a 12" steel insert and adds +0.200" to the face; at roughly 15 lb, it’s intended for higher-rpm or boosted applications and carries SFI-rated construction where specified.
