The K&N Typhoon short-ram intake for Mazda RX-8 (1.3L, 2003–2011) replaces the restrictive factory airbox with a mandrel-bent aluminum tube, oversized high-flow filter in a carbon-fiber-styled housing and a heat shield. The design smooths airflow, accommodates the factory mass air sensor, and increases usable power and acceleration across the rev range. Many Typhoon kits install in about 90 minutes and the filter can run up to 100,000 miles before servicing depending on conditions.
